Just Between Us Guys!!!
By Phil Miller

It was the summer of 95. Travis had just graduated from high school & was working for Goding's during the summer. His Mom, Liz, & I had just started dating & things just seemed to click for us. Travis was going off to college at Norwich University in Vermont. He was getting ready to spread his wings and his Mom wasn't very excited about her 'Baby' leaving.

As the time drew closer for Travis to leave, Liz & I were spending more & more time together. We actually knew by then that we were destined to be Man & Wife. Travis was busy buying the things that he would need at school.

When the day for Travis to leave finally arrived, we planned on taking him to Norwich & getting him settled in. Before we left, though, Travis called me over into the living room. Liz was standing there wondering what was in Travis's mind. He started off by telling me that before he left he needed to fill me in on a very important piece of information that only he knew. He went over to Liz, proceeded to show me the 1 spot that would actually bring her down to her knees laughing. To make sure that I knew where it was, he assisted me the first couple of times. I caught on real fast & to this day, still occasionally bring Liz to her knees.

This is Travis's legacy! This is one of those things that few Mothers & Sons have. They were always kidding around or wrestling. Liz's theory was she was going to 'Kick His Ass'!!! YEAH, RIGHT!!!

I will miss Travis's sense of humor. His wrestling with his Mom. His constant phone calls to his buddies. There is only one thing I can say that I won't miss. Ramen Noodles cooking at midnight!!! Boy, do those things stink!!! He was one of those kids that made being a Step-Father easy.

Travis, I love you & miss you very much.
