My Life with Travis.
Through the eyes of an uncle.

By Jack Martin

The thing that strikes me most of knowing Travis is he is one of those rare fellows that comes along in life that is a truly a gentle, good, happy, modest, honest, and even-tempered soul.

He would take the adversities that life handed him and not let them color his personality for the worst. He viewed adversity as a life lesson as he moved forward. He saw what was good in the people around him and brought that out in all of us. He intuitively knew that life was what he made of it. He was the best man I ever knew. When I now see something good I will forever remember him, as that is what he is. I loved him in life and love him in death. My only regret is I did not spend more time with him.

In the last years of his life Travis and I spoke frequently of the importance of achieving personal goals and realizing life's dreams. His was at the time to be in the Navy and he was. He decided to see the world and see the world he did.

While the end was a fall he will never fall from the eternal grace that is his.
