A Typical Week-end
By Ron Cummings

The games I remember playing were a game for the super Nintendo called Top Gear, and King Arthur's Court. He loved those games, but they were frustrating to him. That's when I'd call him Travy Wavy to really burn him. Ha.

I also remember the music that we loved to play. He loved these two tapes. Both were by the same group. One was Nine Inch Nails- Pretty Hate Machine and the other was the Broken Ep. He loved that song "Wish." I think only a few of us will remember these precious times.

We used to wrestle a lot too. Only problem is that I'm so much bigger than him. I was about three to four inches taller and about forty pounds heavier. So I used to tie him up in a ball like on the cartoons.

I remember one time at his house; there was Liz, Troy, Travy and myself. He was in Karate at this time. He and Liz had a really great relationship. You could see that he truly loved her. They were always playing around, slapping and teasing each other. I was always on Liz's side of course. She'd say "Travis, cut it out or I'll send Ron after you." And off I'd go. I'd pick him up and squeeze him and pet him and call him George.... Actually I'd pick him up and wrestle him and put him in a position where Liz could just tickle him or whatever. And she'd ask him why she has him in karate because apparently it's not working. He'd say back "hard to do anything when he's got me squished like this." It was always funny. One of those things where you have to be there to really see the humor.

But not only did he have a good relationship with his Mom, he also had a good one with his brother. Seemed like most weekends we'd stay at his house 'cause Liz had to work and we'd baby-sit Troy. But every night when Troy went to bed.. Trav wasn't like most brothers.. He WOULD ALWAYS go and say good night to Troy. That always stayed with me. You have to remember there's I think fourteen years between them, or something like that. Most brothers with that much difference in age really don't spend a lot of time with each other - He made a point to. It was hard at times, but he always loved that kid, so did I.

I never got a chance to meet his dad, Roger or really get to know his Step-dad and brothers. But, I know he loved them. That was Trav's nature. He was a boy/man with a big heart who very deeply and genuinely loved his friends and his family. I will always remember that.
