Memorial Day
By Mamoru OkitaWell, this year I've rotated back to the ship, I guess there are lots of things that remind me of Travis here. Nowadays, I am the chief in charge of our Sonar Division and have the responsibility of 10 sailors. Today, I have duty and am the section leader of 30 sailors. I observed colors this morning and afternoon and trained the young sailors on taking colors seriously and why they should be proud to serve this country and to stand duty on such a holiday as this. Tomorrow I will talk with the duty sections for a few minutes to have them reflect on this day.
I can't believe the time that has passed and how it seemed like yesterday. There are many of us that keep in contact still and often recall stories of Travis. We miss you.
